printable version of this page

photoZange Angel flag - Haiti - Haitian $5000.00
Jean Baptiste Jean Joseph, the renowned voodoo flag artist, made this fully beaded voodoo flag. It measures 29 1/2 x 54 3/4". Zange means Angel.

photoSmall Voodoo Flags - Haiti - Haitian $275.00
These are smaller Voodoo flags, also by JBJJ. All are now SOLD. They all measure approximately 17 x 17". This one is of the Voodoo deity, Marass. Please click on the image to see two more. The second one is the deity, Zandor. The third is Loco Gobwa.

photoErzulie heart flag - Haiti - Haitian $950.00
This flag was made by the well respected artist, Valris, in Haiti. It features beads and sequins. The heart is the symbolic representation of Erzulie, the Virgin Mary in her role in the Haitian interpretation of the Christian religion of Vodou, also known as "Voodoo". The mistaken ideas that many have of this word have led those to unfortunate conclusions regarding the true nature of the religion. This striking flag measures 26 x 35 1/2".

photoErzulie the Virgin Mary - Haiti - Haitian $1800.00
This is another JBJJ flag, made in beads and sequins, representing the Erzulie, the Haitian image of the Virgin Mary. Mr. Jean Baptiste is on the right in this photo.

photoDucks - Haiti - Haitian $1200.00
This fully beaded flag was made by JBJJ. It is not a traditional design and does not represent any deity or participant in the Haitian religion of Vodou. It is a great and beautifully decorative example of the art form.

photoSmall Voodoo Flags - Hearts and Fish - Haiti - Haitian $375.00
This heart-shaped design is the deity Mapiang. It measures approximately 20 x 20" and features a fully beaded black and white border, though much of the design is in beads and sequins. The second and third flags here have been SOLD. Please click on the image to see them; they both measureing about 17 x 17". The second one is of the deity Agoue Tawovo. The third is another incarnation of the heart design, called Dantor.

photoLarge Pink Heart - Haiti - Haitian $1800.00
This large bead and sequin heart design, called Freda, is another one by Jean Baptiste Jean Joseph. JBJJ is holding the flag; his son is on the left.

photoSun Queen - Haiti - Haitian $4500.00
This extraordinary, fully beaded flag is large, has been SOLD. I leave it here just because it is such a beautiful example of this art form. It measures 38 x 39". It is a masterpiece by Jean Baptiste Jean Joseph, representing La Reine Soleil, The Sun Queen. Please click on the image for another photo of this magnificent flag, displayed by the son of JBJJ, in Port au Prince.
